North Country Heavy Equipment School specializes in heavy equipment operator training designed to set applicants up for success as an entry level professional operator. This vocational training is designed to get applicants the skills and core competencies needed to become an entry level professional heavy equipment operator. The course meets everyday from 8:00am - 4:30pm for four consecutive weeks consisting of 160 hours of instruction. We have trained the industry's next professional operators since 1999 and are licensed through Michigan and Wisconsin. We are also an approved training facility for the GI Bill, Voc Rehab, Montgomery GI Bill, WI Job Center and National Guard tuition assistance programs. The application deadline to get into the Operator program is the Friday prior to the Monday start of the next class, as long as the class hasn't reached maximum capacity.
This is a course designed to set individuals up for success in a career operating heavy equipment. This course can lead applicants to many different job opportunities and career paths. These include operators union, road construction companies, road commissions, electrical lineman, excavating companies, mine operations, quarry operations, excavating contractors, industrial contractors, logging operations, commercial contractors, and many more.
The School has recruiters that come in throughout the course wanting to hire individuals right after they complete the program. There is also a job board updated monthly at the School to display to students opportunities in the industry. As part of the office administrator's job is job counseling services which entails working with students one on one helping them find and retain valuable employment. This job placement, recruiters, and job board is designed to help students gain employment in the industry.
North Country Heavy Equipment School prides itself on setting our students up for success. When a student is struggling, that student is given more one on one time and if needed, instructors are willing to stay late after class, as well as come in on the weekends to make sure students are proficient in the desired skills. This is part of the reason North Country doesn't take on more than 12 students in a class, ensuring proper one on one time with the instructors.
